These are the displays/bulletin boards we have designed this year. Our boards aim to be interactive whilst still being informative and providing a good learning stimulus.

This is the science display we created when we were studying the 'Ourselves' theme. We learned the names of the main bones of the body, how blood is pumped around the heart and the neames and positions of our internal organs. The heart has blue and red flashing l.e.d. bulbs to show how oxygenated and de-oxygenated blood is pumped around.

This is the solar system display we have done to learn the names and positions of the planets, the Sun and the Moon.

Here is the Remembrance Day display we created. We have been researching World War 2 in history this term and we thought it would be a good idea to create a large poppy during our art lessons and to write reports on the event to remember the occasion.

This is the 'I wonder......' display we created, based on questions we were not quite sure about what the answers were. We had a class discussion and tried to find answers to some of these questions. An example of one of the questions asked was 'If we eat carrots, could we see in the dark?'. Did you know that this idea originated from the British Army during the War. Since carrots are a high source of Vitamin A, the Army suggested to the soldiers to eat as many as possible to enable them to see Nazi fighters during night time.

The questions on the display are interactive - if you lift the flaps you will find the answers to these questions. Come into class and have a look for yourself!

Here is our Enormous Crocodile display based on the book we read by Roald Dahl. We created 'WANTED' posters to find the crocodile. We still can't find the crocodile so please keep looking (we think Mr. Cooper is getting quite scared).

This is the Father Christmas (Santa Claus) display we created on the door to our classroom. The message on Santa's sack wishes everyone a Merry Christmas from our classroom.

This is our Cymru (Wales) display. It shows us important information about our country through the medium of Welsh. We have included the Carmarthen Town Coat of Arms alongside The Lord's Prayer (Gweddi'r Arglwydd) and our national anthem - 'Hen Wlad fy Nhadau'. The daffodil is one of our national symbols along with our national flag of the red dragon.

The following is our display based on Dr Edward de Bono's '6 Thinking Hats'. We use the hats to think our way step-by-step through a problem. Our display has pictures of us thinking underneath each statement. The following tells us what each hat means:

The Silver/White Hat calls for information known or needed. "The facts, just the facts."

The Gold/Yellow Hat - Under this hat you explore the positives and probe for value and benefit

The Black Hat - Spot the difficulties and dangers; where things might go wrong.

The Red Hat - When using this hat you can express emotions and feelings and share fears, likes, dislikes, loves, and hates.

The Green Hat focuses on creativity; the possibilities, alternatives, and new ideas.

The Blue Hat is used to manage the thinking process. Thinking about thinking.

We used the thinking hats to discuss the problem of 'what would you do if you caught your friend smoking?'. We used 'thought clouds' to gather ideas for each hat and then created 'No Smoking' leaflets to highlight the effects of smoking.

Below is our 'Together we can stop bullying' display. You can find more detailed information about this display by clicking here.

This is our Geography display based around 'Our School' environment. The display includes a 3D base model of our school. We have also learnt about compass points this year and these have been labelled on the display so we know in which direction each classroom is facing. There are also pictures and examples of our work on the display showing us when we went outside to do our geographical enquiries. We wanted to find out what the level of rubbish was around the school and these have been labelled on our maps by colouring sections in different colours.

Here is our Numeracy/Maths display. The display is focussed on the lessons when we learnt about time. We have a real clock as the centrepiece of the display to remind us of the time (as well as to remind Mr.Cooper about when he should let us out to play). There are pictures of us learning about time spread around the display. We have also included a schedule or timetable of each day at the bottom. This lets us know exactly which lessons are coming next throughout the day as well as teaching us about digital time.

This is our science display about our sound experiments. The display shows pictures of us performing our experiments as well as comments about what we learnt during each step of the process. There is also examples of our predictions and results in the middle of the display so we can look back and compare and contrast our findings. We also hung one of our home made telephones at the side of our display.

Here is our Welsh display based on the weather and days of the week. It is the responsibility of the helper of the day to update this each day. We have to change the day, the date, the description of the day's weather and the picture of the day's weather. This is a good tool in helping us remember the names of different types of weather and the date.

This is our display based on the different parts of speech. We use this as a reminder of what the best types of words are to include in our work and how to improve our work by adding adjectives, adverbs, etc.

Here is J1's art display based on our pictures of Vincent Van Gogh's 'Starry Night'. You can find more information about this display by clicking here.

This is J1's other art display based on 'Mixing Colours'. We had a lot of fun in the lesson by mixing different primary colours of paint to see if they would create other colours. This is what we discovered:

Here is J1's display based on Henry VIII & his six wives. The display shows Henry along with the names and pictures of his 6 wives. Henry has been decorated in a variety of materials and the display really catches our eye as we walk down the corridor.
